Scalene Manor

Scalene Manor

We built a large double extension on the side of this already impressive family home. However the functionality of this home was at the forefront of all our designs and being able to modify this space for elderly occupants was a rewarding task.

Large double annex extension

Location: Warlingham

Type: 4 Bed Private Residence

Size: 3,445 Square Feet

On this build we were tasked with mixing passé and modern styles such as having a dynamic glass roof design overlooking the horses stables in a manicured back garden.

01
Wet rooms

We installed a wet room to enhance accessibility and safety, providing a spacious, easy-to-navigate shower area for all family members, particularly those with mobility challenges. Its design eliminates barriers like shower trays or doors, reducing the risk of slips and falls, which is especially beneficial for older family members. The open layout also promotes independence and ease of use, ensuring a more comfortable and practical bathroom experience for everyone.

02
Glass balconies

We installed a glass balcony to create a seamless connection between the interior and exterior, enhancing the sense of openness and light. The transparency of the glass complements the glass gable end, allowing uninterrupted views while maintaining a sleek, modern aesthetic. This design choice not only maximizes natural light but also contributes to the contemporary, minimalist feel of the property.

03
Dynamic design

We used a dynamic design to create a more open, flexible layout that adapts to the needs of the space and enhances the flow between rooms. By carefully arranging the steels, we were able to remove load-bearing walls, allowing for larger, uninterrupted spaces that feel more expansive and connected. This strategic use of structural elements has opened up the property, giving it a modern, airy feel while maintaining its structural integrity.
